NOTES:

The total number of workers commuting between counties of residence and counties of work for 2000 (dataset #1 above) is equal to the sum of the number of commuters by major industry for each separate county of residence/county of work combination (dataset #3 above). Because of this reason, the number of commuters between place-of-work and place-of-residence counties for the year 2000 on this website (BEA) will differ from those found on the Census Bureau website.
In December 2004 the Journey to Work database was temporarily removed to allow BEA to correct the total commuting by county file for 1970, 1980, and 1990. The version from September 2004 mistakenly reversed the place-of-work and place-of-residence counties. The corrected database was made available in January 2005. The data affected were total number of workers for 1970, 1980, and 1990. Year 2000 data were unaffected.

The greater the number of counties selected, the slower the request will be. A submission that requests too much information has the possibility of timing out.
