Director, FVAP Polli Brunelli

Ms. Pauline "Polli" K. Brunelli is a career member of the Senior Executive Service. She was appointed Director of the Federal Voting Assistance Program in the Department of Defense on June 6, 1999. In that capacity, she administers the federal responsibilities of the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) for the Secretary of Defense, who is the Presidential designee. The Act covers the voting rights of all members of the Uniformed Services, Merchant Marine, and their family members, the commissioned corps of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and all U.S. civilian citizens residing outside the United States. Her responsibilities include executive oversight of other federal government departments, agencies, and entities that cooperate in carrying out the Act.

Ms. Brunelli began her government service in the field of Human Resources for the Department of the Navy. She managed personnel programs at the headquarters policy and staff levels that included civilian personnel policy development and program evaluation agency-wide.

Ms. Brunelli attended the University of Hawaii majoring in liberal arts. She is the recipient of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service, and the Industry Advisory Council Excellence in Government Award for e-government for the 2000 Voting Over the Internet pilot project. Ms. Brunelli is married to RADM John F. Brunelli, USN (Ret.).
