Registration is now closed

With the construction of the world’s most powerful neutron source, the Spallation Neutron Source, the future for neutron scattering is bright in the U.S.  Added to this is the importance of magnetic materials in technology.  Considering that one of the key strengths of neutron scattering is to probe unusual phenomena in magnetic materials, an education in neutron scattering of magnetic materials has never been more timely.

The focus of the 5th annual LANSCE Neutron Scattering School is on magnetism in bulk and nanostructured materials as investigated by neutron elastic and inelastic scattering.  This years school will take place 23July-1August, 2008. The application deadline is April 11.  Applications must be submitted via the school website

This year’s neutron scattering school is designed to be of interest to graduate level Ph.D. students and postdocs. The school will promote expansive knowledge of neutron scattering particularly from magnetic materials, to illustrate applications of neutron scattering to solve modern problems, and finally to provide hands-on opportunities to collect and analyze neutron scattering data.
