Finding a Job

Use our job search tool to find a job based on Career Path and/or Berkeley Lab Division. You can also use the Keyword search field to locate a specific job requisition number or type keywords to help identify opportunities. Searching by specific keywords will identify jobs that have similar criteria within the job postings.

The most effective search option is to upload your résumé/CV and allow our system to recommend jobs that match your qualifications. You can refine any search with additional search criteria as additional keywords. Uploading your résumé/CV is just the beginning. Please make sure to continue through the entire process and actually apply for a selected job. When you scroll down the page, you'll notice Your Profile. It's important that you review your contact information for accuracy to ensure that we can contact you. You can revise your information at any time. Alternatively, you can find your ideal job by turning off the autosearch function. Then your résumé/CV won't be included as search criteria.

During your search, you might see job opportunities for your friends. You can easily email the job posting by clicking on Email to a Friend.

Applying to Berkeley Lab – Helpful Hints

After identifying a particular job, click on Add to Job Cart for that specific job posting. You can add and remove as you're reviewing various opportunities. If you haven't already uploaded your résumé/CV, have a copy ready so you're able to provide the requested information. We can process your résumé/CV as a .pdf, .html, .txt, .rtf or .doc file. If your résumé/CV is in any other format, please convert it to one of the above file formats before uploading it to our database. To avoid errors in the application process, only include one period in the file name (e.g.: JaneDoe.pdf). You'll also want to attach your cover letter immediately following your résumé/CV, as one document. It would be helpful to mention the job requisition number(s) in your cover letter.

During the online application process, you'll need to provide an email address. (It's best not to use your work email since we may contact you regarding your job interest.) If you don't have a personal e-mail account, you can obtain a FREE one at a number of email providers including Yahoo, Hotmail, and Netscape. Use your web browser to log onto any of these providers (e.g., www.yahoo.com, www.hotmail.com, www.netscape.com) and register for a free email account. Once you've set up an email account, you can use your email address in our application process.
