This course covers the statutory and regulatory requirements of Title 5 CFR, Part 731 and the criteria and procedures used in making suitability determinations. Through lectures, exercises, workshops, case studies and small group discussions, this course prepares attendees to apply Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) methodology for designating position risk and the model for making suitability determinations.

Who Should Attend?
Federal employees who have responsibility for screening applicants, appointees and employees for suitability and/or adjudicating cases where suitability issues arise.

Non-federal employees must be pre-approved by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management before attending. If you are a non-federal employee and wish to attend, please contact our Customer Service Center to initiate the approval process at (202) 314-3300, or toll-free at (888) 744-GRAD, (888-744-4723) or e-mail customerservicecenter@grad.usda.gov.
