Debt Management Center

Our primary mission is to collect debts resulting from an individual's participation in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education, pension or disability compensation programs in the most efficient and cost effective means possible while maintaining compassionate, high quality service to veterans and their families. As a trusted resource, we consult with veterans and their families in the management and liquidation of their benefit debts.

We also provide debt collection and other administrative services to federal agencies. If you are interested in our services, refer to Doing Business With Us for more information and contact us today.

FLOOD ALERT: Debt Management Center (DMC) has suspended sending collection letters and new referrals to collection sources for most compensation and pension debts owed by persons living in areas subject to disaster declarations after recent flooding.  We have not suspended collection of those accounts previously made subject to administrative offset of VA benefits or accounts where the Department of the Treasury is already withholding Federal payments.  If you are in a federally declared disaster area and are having your benefits withheld for debt collection, but are experiencing hardship, please call us on 1-800 827-0648.  If you cannot get through on the telephone and have access to e-mail or a fax machine, you can send us a message at dmc.ops@va.govor fax us on 612 970-5688.
