Huey_P._Long_Bridge_Widening:_ The Huey P. Long Bridge is being widened from two 9-foot wide lanes to three 11-foot wide lanes with inside and outside shoulders - a total widening of 50 feet. Construction began in 2006 and is expected to be complete in 2013. The primary purpose of the bridge widening project is to enhance safety, emergency evacuation, economic development, quality of life and connectivity between the east and west banks of Jefferson Parish. More
