King Bombing Prevention bill passes House
(June 18, 2008) - Today, U.S. Rep. Peter T. King (NY), Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security, announced that H.R. 4749, The National Bombing Prevention Act of 2008 passed the House. The bill establishes an Office of Bombing Prevention within DHS and directs the President to develop a national strategy to prevent and prepare for terrorist explosive attacks in the United States. King releases Report on link between Cigarette Smuggling and Terror
(April 29, 2008) - Today, U.S. Rep. Peter T. King (NY), Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security, announced a staff report titled, “Tobacco and Terror: How Cigarette Smuggling is Funding Our Enemies Abroad.” The report found that a well-organized smuggling operation can generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single week, with a portion of that money often being funneled to terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
