Housing

There is nothing more sacred than your home and it is incredibly important to me that Louisiana citizens have every opportunity to own a home and feel secure in that home. After the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, light was shed on the many ways the insurance industry needed improvements to guarantee policy owners the benefits they deserve in the wake of a catastrophe. After suffering the damages of a severe natural disaster, the last thing any person should have to battle is an insurance company. I have spoken in favor of reforming homeowner's insurance policies on the house floor and will continue to support Louisiana’s homeowners with my votes. In the unfortunate event that disaster strikes again, I want to make sure that Louisiana’s homeowners are taken care of.

The current mortgage crisis in our country is placing undue stress on Louisiana families already struggling to recover from Hurricanes Rita and Katrina. I will continue to fight for all citizens of Louisiana who may have been hit hard during this trying economic time. Keeping Louisianans safe and secure in their homes is of utmost importance to me and I will not stop working on these issues until they are set to rest.
