Disaster Assistance Programs Available to You If you have any questions or need further information on aid that is available, please contact Congressman Braley’s Waterloo office at 319-287-3233. FEMA: Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) is the primary agency that deals with disaster assistance. Two different types of assistance are offered:
- Housing Needs: provides temporary housing, repair and replacement of homes
- Other Than Housing Needs: other assistance including medical and clothing

Disaster Unemployment Assistance: Provides unemployment benefits and re-employment services to individuals who have become unemployed because of major disasters More information: http://workforcesecurity.doleta.gov/unemploy/disaster.asp Financial Services: Some banks permit early withdraws of time deposits without penalty.
