Ros-Lehtinen Reports That Florida International University’s

Mass Scale Biosensor Threat Diagnostics Program Received $8 Million

In Federal Grants In Defense Appropriations Subcommittee

Miami, Florida -- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, is pleased to report that Florida International University’s Mass Scale Biosensor Threat Diagnostics Program has been awarded $8 million in federal grants in the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.

FIU’s Mass Scale Biosensor Threat Diagnostics program’s goal is to monitor exposures to environmental and occupational hazards by developing a world class program for advanced diagnostics devices that focus on life sciences, bioengineering and human health. This project will be an important component of FIU’s School of Medicine.

Ros-Lehtinen, along with her South Florida colleagues, will work hard to assure these funds remain in the final legislation that reaches the House Floor.
