SCHUMER:
POTSDAM MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TO RECEIVE $47,500
Money will be used to for construction of an airplane apron and
taxilane
US Senator Charles
E. Schumer today announced that the US Department of Transportation
has awarded $47,500 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants
to the Potsdam Municipal-Damon Field for construction of a new taxilane
and apron.
“Safe
and secure air service is a critical engine of the North Country’s
continued economic growth,” said Schumer. “This funding
will allow Potsdam to improve aircraft access so that it can meet
today's modern aviation demands.”
This funding
will be used to construct an apron and taxilane at Potsdam Municipal-Damon
Field. The apron construction will allow four additional planes
to be tied down and the taxilane construction will provide access
to a future T-Hangar.
Schumer has
been a longtime leader in improving air travel in upstate New York.
