Small Business Committee Leadership Calls on SEC & PCAOB to Delay Implementation of New Regulations
WASHINGTON – House Small Business Committee Chairwoman Nydia M. Velázquez and Ranking Member Steve Chabot today asked the chairmen of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board to delay the SEC’s new regulatory guidance on the implementation of Section 404 of Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 for small companies. The letter requests that the deadline be postponed in order to allow sufficient time to determine whether or not the proposed standards will reduce burdensome compliance costs for small firms.
