Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Heather Wilson today welcomed news that a computer and technology giant will create 1,300 new jobs in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. HP today announced plans to open new, state-of-the-art customer service and technical support centers in two locations nationally. One of those will be in Rio Rancho, NM.
“This is a great fit. New Mexico and Rio Rancho are both leaders in technology,” says Wilson. “These are great jobs for the City of Vision and I look forward to welcoming HP to New Mexico.”
HP officials say they based their decision on New Mexico’s quality workforce, business environment, standard of living and government cooperation. The new center is expected to open in 2009 with a few hundred employees and grow to more than 1,300 by 2012. HP also says the center is designed to meet the company’s growing customer requirements and enhance the total customer experience. HP will work with city officials and local developers on the design and construction of the new facilities.
