Senate Confirms VA Secretary Peake
Ranking Member Hutchison “Looks forward to Working with Secretary Peake”

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Ranking Member on the Senate Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement today as the Senate confirmed Lt. Gen. James Peake to be the 10th Secretary of Veterans Affairs:

“I look forward to working with Secretary Peake on the major priorities we share on Veterans issues. We are both fully committed to deliver the funding and services that our Veterans deserve. I know that his solid experience in military medicine will help him meet this challenging responsibility.”

Sen. Hutchison is also a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.
