Sen. Hutchison Releases a Statement on the Passing of Elspeth Rostow

WASHINGTON -- Texas senior' Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison released the following statement tonight regarding the passing of former University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs Dean Elspeth Rostow:

"Elspeth Rostow contributed so much to Texas and our nation. She loved policy and lived to teach, which she did at many of the finest universities in the country. Since 1969 she was a familiar presence and valued leader on the campus of the University of Texas, culminating in her six years as Dean of the LBJ School.

"From her efforts on international issues, her philanthropic and charitable work, and her groundbreaking and transformational record as Dean, she leaves a legacy that will live on for a very long time."
