Sen. Hutchison Announces Over $700,000 in Texas Fire Grants 11 Texas Cities to Receive DHS Funding for Operations and Safety and Vehicle Acquisition
WASHINGTON -- Texas’ senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today announced $769,238 in U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) for Texas firefighters to improve overall preparedness and first response capabilities.
“These grants will provide our brave firefighters and first responders with the resources they need to save lives,” Sen. Hutchison said. “This funding will help these brave men and women better prepare for emergency situations in our communities.”

According to DHS, the funding can be used to hire, train and equip personnel, purchase personal protective equipment and make health and safety modifications to stations and facilities.
