WASHINGTON -- Texas’ senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today announced that the University of Texas at Austin will receive a $150,000 research grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
“Engineering research is vital to American competitiveness in an increasingly global economy,” Sen. Hutchison said. “These funds will help UT researchers continue their national leadership in this area.”
The grant will support a project entitled, “Fast Fourier Transform Accelerated Multiscale Algorithms for Computational Electromagnetics,” under the direction of Dr. Ali Yilmaz, Assistant Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering.
Sen. Hutchison is a senior member of the Commerce Science, and Transportation Committee, which authorizes the NSF, and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, which funds the NSF budget.
