Sen. Hutchison Announces $650,000 Research Grant for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
WASHINGTON -- Texas’ senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today announced that Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will receive a $650,000 research grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
“Technology is increasingly important to a productive learning environment, and these NSF funds will help Texas A&M researchers develop new and innovative methods in this field,” Sen. Hutchison said.
The grant will support a project entitled, “CRI: IAD - Computing Infrastructure for Research-Based Learning (CIRBL),” under the direction of Dr. John Fernandez, Associate Professor of Computer Science.
Sen. Hutchison is a senior member of the Commerce Science, and Transportation Committee, which authorizes the NSF, and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, which funds the NSF budget.
