Sen. Hutchison Announces Over $2 Million in Law Enforcement Grants
WASHINGTON -- Texas’s senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded $2,039,946 in grants to Texas law enforcement agencies to assist in their mission to protect public safety.
“It is so important that our police officers and courthouses have the resources they need to keep us safe,” Sen. Hutchison said. “These grants will provide the equipment and infrastructure needed to help our law enforcement officials fight crime.”
The following organizations will receive funding:

City of Rosenberg | $17,696 | Undercover narcotics investigations |
Orange County | $17,441 | Monitoring of sex offenders |
City of Marshall | $14,316 | Equipment upgrades |

Funding for these communities has been awarded under the DOJ’s Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program, established to aid the efforts of local and state law enforcement agencies.
