Sen. Hutchison Announces Federal Disaster Assistance Available to Texas Flood Victims


WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas’ senior Senator, today announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has made disaster assistance loans available to Texas residents and businesses affected by recent flooding.

“These low-interest disaster loans will help individuals and businesses get back on their feet if they have suffered property damage,” Sen. Hutchison said.

Residents and businesses in the following areas are eligible to apply to the SBA for assistance:

· Lampasas County
· Bell County
· Burnet County
· Coryell County
· Hamilton County
· Mills County
· San Saba County

Disaster loans of up to $200,000 are available to homeowners for repair or replacement of damaged real estate. Businesses may apply for up to $1.5 million in loans to repair or replace damaged real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. Further information and loan application details can be found by calling (800) 659-2955 or by visiting www.sba.gov/services/disasterassitance. A local SBA outreach center will open on Thursday, June 28 at Lampasas County Courthouse, 501 E. 4th St. from 8am to 5pm.
