Sen. Hutchison Issues Statement on British Prime Minister Tony Blair


WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today issued the following statement regarding British Prime Minister Tony Blair relinquishing the premiership to his Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown:

“Prime Minister Blair has been an invaluable ally and partner for the United States in the Global War on Terror. He has demonstrated courage, commitment, and compassion throughout the world in combating terrorism, ethnic war, debt relief and HIV/AIDS, among other issues. I thank him for his service to Great Britain and the world.”
