Sen. Hutchison Announces Over $1.7 Million in Cancer Research Funding
Facilities in Houston, Dallas, and within UT and Texas A&M to Receive Funding


WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas’ senior senator, today announced $1,751,180 in U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grants for cancer research institutions in Texas.

“Since the War on Cancer was declared in 1971, we have amassed a wealth of knowledge on the disease and have made great strides in prevention and early detection,” said Sen. Hutchison. “This funding will help support those on the front lines of the War on Cancer – the men, women, and children waging their own personal battles against this disease.”

The following organizations will receive funding:

· Texas A&M Health Science Center $352,110

· The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center $319,550

· The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center $319,550

· The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center - Dallas $260,620

· The University of Texas Health Science Center $168,750

· AM Biotechnologies, LLC $99,600

· The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center $77,000

· The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center $77,000

· The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center $77,000
