Sen. Hutchison Commends Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Leadership

WASHINGTON -- Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, today commended British Prime Minister Tony Blair for his 10 years of leadership and close alliance with the United States following the announcement that he will step down June 27:

“Tony Blair has served as an ally and friend to the United States during volatile times. His decade of leadership will be remembered for a deep commitment to peace and democracy most notably in Northern Ireland and the Middle East. The free world has benefited from his conviction and I thank him for his friendship to America.”
