Sen. Hutchison Issues a Statement on Continental Airlines Announcement


WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas’s senior Senator and the Ranking Member on the Senate Aviation subcommittee, released a statement today following the announcement by Continental Airlines that they will not merge with another airline at this time:

“I am very pleased that Continental Airlines will not merge with United Airlines. Continental Airlines has a long history as a Texas airline and is an important asset for the Houston business community, the State of Texas, and the national economy.”
