Sen. Hutchison Announces Catharina Haynes Approved by Senate for 5th Circuit Court of Appeals

WASHINGTON -- Today U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) released the following statement on the Senate voting to confirm Catharina Haynes for a seat on the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals:

“Judge Haynes served with distinction on the 191st District Court in Dallas and as an attorney in private practice. I am confident she will capably serve as a federal appellate judge for the 5th Circuit and congratulate her on her confirmation.”

Haynes is presently a Partner at Baker Botts, LLP in Dallas. She previously served as a Judge on the 191st Judicial District Court in Dallas from 1999-2006. Before that, she was an attorney for Baker Botts for ten years and Thompson & Knight for three years.
