Rep. Waxman Elected Chairman of Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

On January 4, 2007, Rep. Henry A. Waxman was officially elected Chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee by members of the 110th Congress.

Rep. Waxman has announced the Committee’s new subcommittee organization. He has proposed that the Committee establish the following five subcommittees:

• National Security and International Relations
• Domestic Policy
• Federal Workforce, Post Office, and the District of Columbia
• Government Management, Organization, and Procurement
• Information Policy, Census, and National Archives.
