LOOKING OUT FOR CONSUMERS
The Antitrust Subcommittee takes a lead role in Congress to examine proposed mergers within an industry, to scrutinize allegations of anticompetitive business practices which harm consumers, and to oversee the government's antitrust enforcement agencies. Chairman of the Antitrust Subcommittee, Senator Mike DeWine (R-OH) and I have made it a priority to examine anticompetitive business practices and mergers with the end goal of protecting American consumers. I have also through this subcommittee, and elsewhere, to fight on behalf of consumers on such issues as gas prices, identification theft, and cable and satellite TV charges. |
