Homeland Security to Host Border Security Tech Fair

April 16, 2007 – In an effort to promote a better understanding of developing and existing technologies used in securing our nation’s borders, the Committee on Homeland Security will host a Border Security Technology Fair on Wednesday, April 18, 2007.

The following vendors are scheduled to participate: Sightlogix, Scantech, Wattre, Hirsch, Bioscrypt, Cogent Systems, Cross Match, L1 Identity, Sagem Morpho, Motorola, L3 Communication, Authentec, Privaris, Mobilisa, and Lumidigm.

In addition to the fair, Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) and Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism Ranking Member Mark E. Souder (R-IN) and member Henry Cuellar (D-TX) will host a lunch issue briefing to discuss technological solutions to border security.

The briefing with include the following panelists:

The Honorable James Ziglar -- Former Commissioner, Immigration and Naturalization Service, President and CEO, Cross Match Technologies Inc., and Member of the International Biometrics Industry Association.

Mr. Ramsey Billips -- Technical Director, Cogent Systems, Project Manager for Cogent’s US-VISIT contract, and member of the International Biometric Industry Association.

Mr. Brian Seagrave -- Vice President of Border Security, Unisys Corporation.
