Interning in a United States Senate office is a great way to explore a career in public service while earning credits toward your college degree.
It is important to me that an internship be a rewarding experience that gives students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of contemporary issues while developing valuable skills that will serve them in the future. My interns become acquainted with the fundamentals of the Senate through firsthand experience, participating on a daily basis in office activities ranging from constituent relations to legislative research. Students who complete the program leave with a greater understanding of the legislative process and the roles of leadership, management, and communication in public policy-making.
Full-time paid and unpaid sessions are offered throughout the academic year. Interested students should have exceptional academic records, demonstrate advanced writing and communication skills, and express an interest in government and public relations through relevant coursework and/or extracurricular activities.
Please refer to the information below for additional information on the application process.
Thank you for your interest and good luck!
