A Digital Signal Results in a Better Picture: The analog television on the right is receiving an over-the-air analog signal, while the analog television on the left is receiving an over-the-air digital signal that has been changed to analog format using a converter box.

The Committee on Energy and Commerce invited manufacturers and retailers to display their digital-to-analog converter boxes for Committee members and staffers on Monday, February 4, 2008. Participants included: Artec/Ultima Electronics Corporation, Best Buy/Insignia, Digital Stream, EchoStar, GE/Jasco, Max Media, RCA/Alco Electronics, Tivax, Zenith/LG Electronics and GXi International.

In the photos below, manufacturers demonstrate their products. All products shown have been certified by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
