Washington, Jan 10, 2007 -  Today, Congressman John Shadegg (R-AZ) made the following statement:

“I have been in favor of increasing the troop levels in Iraq since returning from my first trip there in 2003. This undertaking will require a sustained, not a temporary surge, in order to secure the country and enable the Iraqi government to take control and determine its own future. And it will require the commitment of not a minimal, but a substantial number of additional troops, perhaps as many as 50,000.”
