H.R. 5787, the Federal Real Property Disposal Enhancement Act allows agencies to retain all of the proceeds from the sale of surplus property instead of depositing them in the Treasury. The agencies may only use these funds for real property disposal activities, subject to appropriations. The bill also directs GSA to make the initial payment for the direct and indirect costs associated with selling the surplus property.
