Fortenberry Statement on Assassination of Former Pakistani Prime Minister Bhutto

LINCOLN, NE - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry made the following statement today on the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto:

“This is an international disaster. Former Prime Minister Bhutto’s assassination further complicates a very tenuous political environment in a volatile part of the world. She was a courageous woman in light of the grave dangers she faced in returning to Pakistan.”

Fortenberry is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and its Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia.
