Committees

Photo of Senator Pryor at a committee hearing The Senate has 16 standing committees with 68 subcommittees, as well as four select or special committees. Committees consider bills and issues and recommend measures for consideration within their legislative jurisdiction. They also have oversight responsibility to monitor agencies, programs, and activities within their jurisdictions, and in some cases in areas that cut across committee jurisdictions. Most committees form subcommittees to share specific tasks within the jurisdiction of the full committee.

Senator Pryor serves on the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee where he works with the Department of Homeland Security to protect the nation from the threat of domestic terrorism and with the Department of Defense to ensure that our men and women in uniform have all of the resources they need to defend our country.

As a member of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, Senator Pryor proudly promotes the interests of those state enterprises he calls "Arkansas' economic backbone."

Pryor also serves on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and the Senate Select Committee on Ethics.
