Dole meets with sheriffs from Wake, Johnston, Hoke, Franklin and Sampson Counties to discuss her statewide immigration enforcement plan.

After meeting with sheriffs across the state in August 2007, Dole helped deliver the nation’s first and only statewide immigration enforcement plan for North Carolina sheriffs to partner with federal immigration officials to identify, apprehend and deport illegal aliens who self-identify themselves through criminal behavior.

Dole received an update from the sheriffs about their experience with the plan, and she discussed with them what additional federal tools or assistance they need to combat the criminal illegal alien problem and protect North Carolina communities.
