Cleaver Announces Over $9.3 Million In Construction Projects For Kansas City Veteran's Hospital -
Tomorrow, during National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II will announce that two new construction projects totaling more than $9.3 million have been approved for the Kansas City VA Hospital by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The funding for the new construction was made possible by a $397 million increase over the President’s request for VA minor construction, supported by Cleaver, in the final 2008 Appropriations bill signed into law in December.

(Kansas City, MO) — The Parkway Station Post Office will be officially designated as the Wallace S. Hartsfield Post Office Building at a ceremony to be held at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center and Museum, located at 3700 Blue Parkway, on Friday, Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m.

Congressman Cleaver Secures Nearly $37 Million In Federal Funding For Local Projects And Initiatives -
With the President’s signature of H.R. 2764 the Omnibus spending bill today, Congressman Cleaver is proud to announce nearly $37 million in federal money will return to Missouri’s Fifth District. Passage of the $856 billion Omnibus spending bill signals the end of the spending showdown between Congress and the President. The bill includes money for operating the government in 2008 as well as $71 billion for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Cleaver, Moore Secure Over $42 Million For Kansas City Levees Project -
Congress overwhelmingly voted this week to override President Bush’s veto of H.R. 1495, the Water Resources Development Act, an infrastructure bill authorizing hundreds of critical projects, including those to protect communities across the country from natural disasters such as hurricanes, storm surge and flooding.
