U.S. CONGRESSMAN JOHN SHADEGG REPRESENTING THE 3RD DISTRICT OF ARIZONA

Energy

Energy

Our economy depends upon affordable, reliable energy.  Rising energy prices have created a significant financial burden for American businesses and the American public.  We must develop and promote the use of alternative fuels and take advantage of our abundant natural resources so as to meet America’s ever increasing energy demands.

As a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, I have had the opportunity to learn more about cleaner, renewable energy sources and am a strong proponent of hydroelectric and nuclear power.  Unfortunately, radical environmental groups and special interests have played too large a role in discussions relating to alternative energy.  We must find commonsense energy solutions and an appropriate balance between conservation and positive economic growth.

By enabling increased domestic energy production and encouraging the development of alternative energy sources, Congress can lower energy prices, create new jobs, and maintain a stable, sustainable energy supply.
