WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today released the following statement on the flooding in downstate Illinois:
"I offer my deepest condolences to the victims of this week's dangerous flooding in southern Illinois and throughout America's heartland. In the days ahead, I will work with my colleagues to ensure that these downstate communities can rebuild as quickly as possible. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families, and all of those recovering from this tragic storm."
