Obama Statement on the Death of Lou Rawls
"Lou Rawls had a voice that soothed and a soul that never stopped giving. A Chicago native who spent his life entertaining us with all kinds of sounds, he once said that 'There are no limits to music, so why should I limit myself.' Indeed, perhaps more so than his music, it was his years of charitable work, his now-famous telethons, and the hundreds of thousands of young Americans he helped send to college that truly proved just how far his voice could soar. My thoughts and prayers are with those who knew and loved him, and may he rest in eternal peace."
