ARCURI TO HOST TRANSPORTATION PRIORITIES MEETING

Ensure Local Needs are Met in the Federal Highway Bill

Washington, DC -- On Monday, July 28th in Utica, NY, U.S. Rep. Michael A. Arcuri (D-Utica) will host a Transportation Priorities Meeting with fellow Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D- Manhattan), the highest ranking member of the New York delegation serving on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The purpose of the meeting is to gather a comprehensive assessment of local transportation priorities as Congress prepares to reauthorize federal funding for major transportation programs next year.

Location: Utica City Hall, 1 Kennedy Plaza, Utica, NY

Arcuri and Nadler, both members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will be joined by New York State Department of Transportation staff to hear from state and local elected officials, business owners, economic development experts, public transportation officials, contractors and union leaders regarding Upstate New York’s transportation priorities.

New York’s 24th Congressional District includes parts or all of the following counties: Broome, Cayuga, Cortland, Chenango, Herkimer, Oneida, Ontario, Otsego, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins.  Representatives from all eleven counties were invited to attend and testify at the July 28th meeting in Utica.

Arcuri hosted three transportation roundtable discussions (Herkimer, Greene and Auburn) during the month of July to ensure transportation priorities for all eleven counties are considered.
