DINGELL ON DirecTV’S AGREEMENT WITH PUBLIC TELEVISION

Washington, D.C. – Rep. John D. Dingell (D-MI), Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, released the following statement in response to the announcement made by DirecTV that it will carry digital public television broadcast signals:

“I am thoroughly pleased with the agreement reached by public television and DirecTV that will allow its subscribers to receive public television’s programming in high-definition format. Public television offers exceptional news, public affairs and educational content, and I’m glad to see that more Americans will have access to this high-quality programming.”
