New Hampshire students wishing to secure a nomination
to a Service Academy should send a letter to Senator Sununu in his
Manchester office outlining why they want to pursue a career in
the United States Military. In addition, students should supply
Senator Sununu’s office with the items listed below by October
10, 2008.
1. Letter of Interest
2. Autobiography
3. Informational
Data Form (PDF) or
Informational Data Form (HTM)
4. Letter of Reference (Minimum 3)
5. SAT Scores (Code: 0225)
6. Photo (Please write name on back)
7. Official Academic Transcripts
Senator Sununu can only nominate students to the United States Military
Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Merchant
Marine Academy, and the United States Air Force Academy, who are
from New Hampshire. Students whose legal residence is not New Hampshire
should contact
their representative or senator.
The Service Nomination Board is made up of retired military personnel,
including service academy alumni and educators who conduct interviews.
The interviews are completed by Thanksgiving, and students are notified
by December 15, 2008. The board will take the highest SAT score
and the Academy you choose must be made aware of your intention
to attend.
