H.R.4127, "Data Accountability and Trust Act (DATA) Act", was ordered favorably reported to the House, amended, by a yea-nay vote: 41 - 0.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment by Mr. Stearns, #1, "manager's amendment", was adopted by a voice vote.

An amendment to the Stearns amendment offered by Mr. Markey, #1A, regarding the regulation and sale of Social Security numbers, was withdrawn.

An amendment to the Stearns amendment offered by Mr. Markey, #1B, regarding the 'offshoring' of data containing personal information without the individual's consent, was defeated by a division vote: 9 - 17;

An amendment offered by Mrs. Blackburn, #2, regarding circumstances giving rise to substitute notification of an information security breach, was withdrawn;

An amendment offered by Mr. Fossella, #3, to exempt from this Act financial institutions in compliance with the requirements of title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, was withdrawn.

H.Con.Res. 357, Supporting the goals and ideals of National Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, was ordered favorably reported by a voice vote.

No amendments were offered.
