Congressman Sherman Praises the President for Signing The Consolidated Natural Resources Act of 2008

Legislation Includes the Rim of the Valley Corridor Study

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Brad Sherman (Sherman Oaks) released the following statement on the signing earlier today of the Consolidated Natural Resources Act of 2008
(S. 2739) which included legislation that authorizes the Rim of the Valley Corridor Study to be conducted by the National park Service – a study that Congressman Sherman, a co-sponsor of the legislation, has long been fighting for.

"Today's signing by the President allows for the continuing efforts to protect the natural resources of a very geographically and ecologically distinct region in Southern California. The study also will address the needs and interests of both private landowners and communities within the boundaries of the Rim of the Valley Corridor.  Finally, I want to commend my colleague Adam Schiff for all his efforts and vital role in the passage of this bill in Congress," stated Congressman Sherman.
