What is a Comprehensive Plan?

A Comprehensive Plan is a long-range plan or guidebook for a community’s growth, development, and redevelopment. It is called “comprehensive” because it is based on local conditions and trends and coordinates the efforts of many different aspects of a community, such as land use, transportation, community facilities, and natural resources. It is a guide for current development and City operations as well as a vision for 20 years into the future, developed from community feedback.

The Comprehensive Plan is:
