The Planning Process
The City of Denton’s Planning Department will develop Denton Plan 2030 with assistance from a consulting team over a two-year process. The process will occur in five phases:
The consultant team is currently in Phase 3 of the planning process, which includes developing a data book of key trends and conditions that will inform the planning process; a growth trend scenario based on current population distribution, land use designations, and land use patterns to identify a possible future development scenario if current trends continue; the first Community Forum designed to define areas of consensus on the important issues facing the City of Denton and on citizens’ values and aspirations for the future; and additional opportunities for public input, including a community survey, the Denton Plan 2030 website, social media, and mobile meetings.
