Half of the carnage from Flower Street and Dyer Road
The Santa Ana Police Department has released horrific photos from a fatal crash early Sunday in hopes a witness will come forward to tell investigators what happened.

Around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, a 2007 Nissan Murano SUV driven alone by a 19-year-old man north on Flower Street collided with a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven alone by a second man east on Dyer Road.

"The impact caused both vehicles to veer toward the northeast corner of the intersection where a traffic signal and a chain link fence were also struck," reads an advisory from the force's Traffic Division.

"The Chrysler, driven by the unknown male subject overturned and landed at the bottom of the adjacent storm drainage channel and caught fire. Fire Department paramedics responded and extinguished the vehicle fire, after which the driver of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene."

What a way to die...brains splattered, crushed, and burned up to a crisp.  Senseless.
