PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Think about your favorite prime-time television shows. Imagine an audience more than three times the size tuning in for one specific event. That was the case for the Eagles and Cowboys Thanksgiving Game.

According to NFL Spokeman Greg Aiello, the Thanksgiving Day showdown drew 32 million viewers making it the most watched show of the fall TV season.

To put things into perspective, Aiello recently mentioned that NFL games this season are drawing 18 million viewers, up from 16.8 million last season. Another measuring stick for football games is obviously the Super Bowl.

Last season’s big game drew 108.4 million viewers.
