Fritz is also the leader of the Denton group Uver who you might have heard at Twilight tunes or the studio. Starting at 8:30 is the rock steady Purl Snap Shirts perform. Members Joe Stack and Garrett Phelps describe themselves as musicians who are “guitar playing, lyric singing; born to the wolves, and raised among the various communities of Denton, Texas.” Many of the artists have new work on display as we move into the fall season. Art demonstrations and a fall themed community art painting will be also taking place at the studio. Grab a friend and come join the fun.

Vigne News For July 2014

From John Ryan at Vigne:

vigne wine shop denton texasBecause the 4th is on a Friday this year we are pushing the wine club wine tasting to next weekend, the 10th -12th . This evening andSaturday, from 6:00-8:00pm our wine tasting has been selected especially for the holiday weekend. Street and Parking lot reconstruction will continue through December. This week they have shut down the parking lot closest to Wells Fargo. As an alternative the city has striped the lot by the old tax office between Oak and McKinney by Oakland St. This lot is only 1-1/2 blocks from Vigne and generally does not fill up until late in the evening.

We have made several changes to our “by the glass” list, several new ports and our First Class Flight is now three great Cabernets.

When Hoochie’s opens (mid-July) they will be an addition to our list of local restaurants that deliver to Vigne. Currently Andaman, Mellow Mushroom and Rusty Taco deliver. Gold Mine BBQ has minimum order to delivery. We also have menus from Queenie’s and Rooster’s both of whom currently only do “pickup” orders, but we are working on them.

Be sure and like us on Facebook. We post our weekend tastings on Facebook ever week but try to limit ourselves to not more than two emails a month.

 The basics:

With 29 wines and ports available by the glass (33-35 Thursday through Saturday) and 8 to 10 wine and port flights, we have something for everyone’s taste, and ranging from $4 to $22 something for everyone’s pocketbook. For the beer drinkers in your group we have 4 on tap and 7 bottle selections.

Our “Last Bottle Sale”, discounts 20-50% off, has sold out but we will be picking several selections to start it back up next week.

Every day we feature a “Wine of the day” which is happy hour price all day.
